Work In Progress

Time Flies

A middle-grade novel set in 1936 from San Francisco to Manila—is based on true events and peppered with actual historical figures.

Jules Dawson wants to be a pilot more than anything in the world, but with no financial resources, he doubts he can ever achieve such a lofty ambition. When the thirteen-year-old wins the contest of a lifetime, a round-trip ticket on the Pan American Airways Clipper’s first commercial passenger flight across the Pacific, he imagines his dreams could come true. In this coming-of-age adventure, Jules experiences vastly different cultures, makes new friends, and sets a course for his future in aviation.

The contest is limited to only the first 50 double-spaced pages of unpublished English-language manuscripts containing elements of thriller, mystery, crime, or suspense NOT currently under contract.
